About Us
New England Green Building (NE Green) is a division of Conwell ACE Hardware and Lumber, Inc. Conwell Lumber is a family-owned business that has been in the Rogers family for 20 years, located in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The family has a long history on the Cape that dates back to the original landing of the Mayflower.
NE Green founder, Jeffrey Rogers, is a LEED® Accredited Professional. Mr. Rogers managed the design and construction of the first LEED®-H Platinum rated home in Massachusetts which is also only the eighth LEED®-H Platinum home in the country. It is a net annual zero energy home producing annually close to the total energy budget (electrical and heat) of the building. During the design and planning of this home, he realized that green building resources and products were not readily available throughout the New England region.
Mr. Rogers has used his broad background and practical experience to provide this unique resource for the New England area. He created NE Green by combining his practical skills and knowledge in the construction and hardware industry with a graduate degree in earth science and 10 years in environmental consulting.
He completed his undergraduate work at Boston University and his Masters of Science degree at the University of Maine, Orono in Geology. He is currently working on a PhD at the University of New Hampshire, Durham in Natural Resources and Earth System Sciences. He worked in the mapping industry and environmental consulting from 1996-2006 before moving back to the Cape to manage the family business. Through NE Green his goal is to help others realize the benefits of green building by sharing the knowledge that he has acquired.
